Verdict

Doctor Hilary looks capable of taking this opener with Beckermet, Elisha and Talcen Gwyn others to consider. The selection drops back to the minimum trip here after just being touched off into second by Beaver Patrol at Kempton last time out. The shorter trip should not inconvenience him as he is a half brother to Only If I Laugh, who won over the trip as a juvenile, and the form of that Kempton contest has worked out ok with the third having improved since, and so there is every reason to anticipate more from Doctor Hilary and he can score. Beckermet has to concede 7lb to the selection and may find that beyond him. Wins at Haydock and Thirsk in the past month prove that he has ability, but the extent of that was highlighted when soundly beaten by Pike Bishop at Ripon last time. Nevertheless he is capable of producing his running again and can make the frame. The filly Elisha came good at Goodwood last time, staying on well to beat Clinet, and she can also improve for tat to take a hand in proceedings, while Talcen Gwyn also looks to have some ability, but will need to improve even moreso to trouble the selection judged on his Brighton success last time. The one for us then, is Doctor Hilary.
