Verdict

A chance is taken with Kamanda Laugh, who is just preferred over Oasis Star and Chateau Nicol, who have fair chances from good draws. Zilch and Balavista would also have been given a big build up but have it all to do from their wide positions in the stalls. Another that could figure strongly is Little Good Bay, who has claims on the pick of his efforts from last term. However, he failed to sparkle in Dubai last time and now has something to prove. Chateau Nicol has proved versatile for Brendan Powell and has been a profitable horse for each-way punters to follow. He has the assistance of Kieren Fallon this afternoon and should not be far away if he can stay out of trouble. Similar comments apply to Oasis Star, who had the likes of Glaramara and Sew'n'so Character behind him when he won at this meeting last year. He suffered with the handicapper as a result and found life tough towards the back-end of last term. Still, he is only lightly raced and could have more to offer from a mark 2lb higher than for his last win. However, we have yet to see the best of Kamanda Laugh, who is suited to this trip, will be sharper for his seasonal reappearance and hails from a yard that have farmed winners at this meeting over the years.
