In depth

Verdict

Kalca Mome and Bonus Bridge are the two to consider in this four runner affair, and the narrow preference is for Bonus Bridge. The selection clearly needed the run when a distant second behind Whereareyounow at Stratford last month. He is sure to improve for that run, and showed enough last season to suggest a race of this nature could be within his grasp. He is a good bold jumper who met some classy rivals last season, so he looks well worth taking a chance on here. Kalaca Mome is the obvious danger and he ran well when beating Robyn Alexander at Newton Abbot earlier in the month. He is in good form at present, but has yet to meet anything out of the ordinary so could find life tougher here. Brown Ben and Just A Touch are unlikely to be good enough to trouble the principles here, and the latter looks to be in the grip of the handicapper at present. There is unlikely to be much between Kalca Mome and Bonus Bridge at the finish, but we will take a chance on the latter.
