Verdict

Crown Ridge should be on the premises once again but preference is for DIAMOND VINE on the back of a good run at Bath whilst the booking of Richard Hughes for Ad Vitam takes the eye. Sylvester Kirk's charge has a mountain to climb on these terms as he's rated 15lbs inferior to the highest rated horse in the race, The Best Mode, but Ad Vitam does drop in grade and it may not pay to get too hung up on the figures with the jockey four from sixteen on the yard's juveniles. Crown Ridge keeps plugging away and that may well be enough to see him land one of these before the season's out and he looks a live bet to make the frame at worst. Painters Easel has something to find with him on their running at Haydock but is open to improvement and has to enter calculations but preference is for Diamond Vine. He hasn't really built on his early promise but a repeat of his latest third in a Bath maiden may be sufficient to see him go close in this grade.
