Verdict

A P McCoy has been cleaning up for Donald McCain in the absence of Jason Maguire so perhaps it's significant that he's aboard The Good Guy rather than Right To Rule. The former scored at this festival last year and looks to have been earmarked for a repeat performance. However, he's likely to be shorter than his overall profile warrants and FINTAN arrives in far better form than his rivals. He narrowly missed out to Thedeboftheyear in an above average Newton Abbot seller before travelling well throughout to score readily in a Wetherby handicap six days later. He has no secrets whatsoever from the handicapper but should give a good account off a 4lb higher mark. The rest are in rather poor form but Western Movie is one who definitely shapes as if the step-up in trip will be very much to his liking.
