      Verdict

A wide-open contest gets proceedings under way and many can be given chances on their best form with Breathtaking View getting the vote over Second Paige and River Mere. The gelding from the George Prodromu yard has won his last two races in good style and a reproduction of his latest win over Errins Lass at Market Rasen would make him hard to beat. Second Paige rates the main danger on his latest third behind Kymberlya. However, he still remains a maiden over hurdles and for that reason he is opposed on this occasion despite conditions being in his favour. River Mere is another worthy of respect. He is one of the least exposed in the field and his latest second behind Ichi Beau reads well in the context of this race and the nine-year-old looks to have been let in on a fair mark. Of the remainder, Hollows Mill travels well in his races but he finds very little off the bridle and place claims look his best hope. Madalyar and Promising are both from shrewd yards and are worth noting in the market, but they will have to be at the top of their game to defeat the selection Breathtaking View.
