Verdict

A tough race to call here for punters with very little between many of the leading lights but the principals look to be Great Chieftain, Decree Nisi and Musicmaestroplease and the tentative vote is given to Decree Nisi. The selection was a fair fifth behind Macorville last time out, and enters handicaps off what looks a fair mark and with the drop in trip also in his favour he looks the value bet in an open affair. Great Chieftain rates the main danger on his latest second behind Silver Dip but he continues to rise in the weights without winning and looks worth taking on at likely odds. Musicmaestroplease is another that could go well on his latest fourth behind Electric Warrior, especially as the return to seven furlongs looks in his favour and he should be closely watched in the market. Mister Maq has place claims on his best form but his overall profile leaves him with a little to find and the fitting of first time cheekpieces will need to improve him if he is to trouble the principals. Ayam Jantan looks on a handy mark and with his yard beginning to hit form he is another with place claims but for the winner we are happy to return to the unexposed Decree Nisi.
