In depth

Verdict

Lake Charlotte can get favourite backers off the mark, with Brain Washed and Ariesanne likely to provide the main dangers. Lake Charlotte has the edge in experience, having been placed on all three starts to date, and should know enough by now to open her account. David Loder's filly was ridden from the front at Yarmouth last time but faded in the closing stages to finish third behind Kool Acclaim. She drops back to the minimum now for the first time, and it is safe to assume that she will try and make all. A good draw in stall 10 should ensure that she gets to the far rail to crack on, and she is taken to hold on from Ariesanne, who hails from the in-form yard of Richard Fahey. She does not appear to have the same scope as the selection judged on her debut third at Ripon, but is sure to pick up a small maiden in time. Brain Washed has had a few opportunities and is another that steps down in distance. She too made little show when well held at Catterick and may only be good enough for the frame at best. All in all, Lake Charlotte rates a solid selection.
