Verdict

Unless the going comes up soft, high numbers are at a disadvantage so Highland Reel, who has dropped to his lowest ever mark and just scrapes into the handicap, may struggle to get a decent pitch. Magic City would have a fair chance on his latest run at York but he's right on the outside with the in-form Newcastle winner Harvest Day close to him. SINGING SHERIFF has been racing over much further and won over 1m4f at Kempton. He's been looking as though a stiff mile would suit and with an inside berth looks to have as good a chance as any in an open contest. Anchises is still a maiden but ran his best race to date at Hamilton last time while Twin Appeal won here in September though likes a bit of cut in the ground.
