In depth

Verdict

AMBER GAMBLER was well supported on his debut between the flags at Kilworth in November and duly obliged, though he was left clear at the last when disputing the lead. He was then sold for £125,000 so connections will be hoping for a successful start. Mahler Lad won a point at Maralin in March and has a much stouter pedigree so testing ground would be in his favour. Dashul showed the benefit of her opening run at Worcester with a much better effort here in November so is an obvious contender while the fact that A P McCoy hangs around to ride the four-year-old Captain Chaos is significant.
