In depth

Verdict

Lucky Bay is selected to get the better of An Capall Dubh, with Curly Spencer and Beauchamp Oracle other noteworthy runners. Lucky Bay stayed on well when second to No Retreat at Huntingdon last time, and as Heather Kemp's charge is plenty fit enough from a spell pointing as well, he should make a bold bid to score. He gets weight from An Capall Dubh who has been kept busy himself of late. He would have been closer at Ludlow last time in the race won by Red Brook Lad, had his rider not lost his reins four out, and he looks set to play a major part. Curly Spencer should improve on what he showed behind Cobreces at Haydock last time, while Beauchamp Oracle shaped fairly well when third to the useful Drombeag at Huntingdon and is another that may be involved at the business end, but we prefer the claims of Lucky Bay.
