In depth

Verdict

Bannister Lane gets the vote here with Rookery Lad and Uncle Max rating the main dangers. The selection won well last time out when beating Simon. Granted he has a penalty for that win but he won with a little in hand and under similar conditions here he is taken to defy the handicapper. Rookery Lad rates the main danger on his latest second behind Sconced but he is becoming expensive to follow and at likely odds he looks worth taking on. Uncle Max looks well in on his best form but he continues to be let down by his jumping so he can not be put forward with any confidence. Of the remainder Haile Selassie won well last time when beating Brooklyn's Gold but will find this harder against more experienced rivals under his penalty and with this in mind for the winner we return to Bannister Lane.
