In depth

Verdict

Linda Perratt's Friar Tuck looked shade unlucky when fourth here over six furlongs last time but may not appreciate the step up to seven furlongs today so preference is for Sea Storm, who gets the verdict over The Bonus King. The selection ran his best race of the season over course and distance last week when a staying on close third behind Flur Na H Alba and, off the same mark, looks worth another chance. The Bonus King is gradually dropping to a fair mark and may appreciate this shorter trip. Mark Johnston's gelding rates a bigger threat than Waltzing Wizard, whose trainer couldn't buy a winner at present. Tim Easterby's Just One Smile has run well off similar marks of late and is entitled to be thereabouts again, while Roman Maze is worthy of a mention now that the stable of Mark Brisbourne is back among the winners. However, the vote goes to Sea Storm who has solid claims on his recent course and distance form.
