In depth

Verdict

Some lightly raced and potentially useful hurdlers in opposition including Quarter Masters. George Moore's gelding ran well in defeat last time and had previously handed the re-opposing Alam a half-length defeat over the course and distance in November. However, he had nothing to spare and may struggle to confirm the placings on 7lb worse terms despite the fact that Alam ran a little below expectations in a claimer next time. Fundamental will be sharper for his Catterick debut last month while newcomer Crownfield should be noted in the exchanges but the vote goes to Miss Opulence. Brian Ellison's charge is a useful winning Flat performer and has already shown plenty of ability over timber having finished runner-up to a smart type at Market Rasen last month. The form has been boosted by the winner at Cheltenham yesterday so the daughter of Kylian should prove hard to beat with conditions in her favour.
