In depth

Verdict

BRICK RED finished second to Ransom Note from a 6lb lower mark on his final start as a juvenile and improved from his reappearance when overcoming a low draw to get the better of Master Mylo at Kempton and the runner-up went on to beat Bramshaw on his next start. Amanda Perrett's gelding has a tall reputation and merits respect but he'll need to show more than he has done on his two starts so far this term. Bronze Prince is hard to weigh up but he did have Monterosso behind when winning his maiden at odds-on at Wolverhampton and the market should tell us what to expect. Jamie Spencer may be able to bring the best out of Brannagh whilst Ertikaan had shaped well prior to a disappointing performance at Leicester and may be worth another chance. The three horses that head the weights should go well but may find that one or two of their less exposed rivals are better handicapped at this stage of the season.
