    Verdict

A terrific renewal of this Listed contest but Frontiersman will be popular having won easily at Newmarket, despite racing keenly and hanging in the closing stages. The Godolphin colt will need to settle better here to get home, however. Dal Harraild was very progressive last year and will be all better for his run in a Group 3 at Newbury, though does have a small penalty. Clever Cookie beat Curbyourenthusiasm when landing the Group 2 Yorkshire Cup over track and trip a year ago and wasn’t beaten far again in that race eight days ago so has to go on the short-list. Wall of Fire finished close up in the Ormonde Stakes at Chester and Harrison and The Tartan Spartan both won decent contests last time. ALYSSA won four of her six starts last year, culminating in a victory in this grade over the trip at Ascot. She’s superbly bred and will be an attractive broodmare so it’s very interesting that she’s been kept in training as a four-year-old.
