Verdict

Richard Fahey holds a strong hand here with Trip The Light and Royal Straight, though we prefer the claim of MULL OF DUBAI. The Dandy Nicholls-trained pick is best off at the weights here and is dropped into a claimer for the first time, having being contesting some tough enough handicaps. He goes well at this track and on the ground, and this may well be a good opportunity for him to win again. Trip The Light is next best at the weights today and is another course and distance scorer. The handicapper has his measure in that sphere at the moment, but his chance looks much better today and he can go very close. Stablemate Royal Straight arrives here in very good form, having enjoyed a 10f Nottingham handicap win last time out. He is unproven on fast ground and also has a bit to find at the weights with the aforementioned pair so we will take him on. Kames Park is no mug and goes well over this trip. He can get involved and pick up some money, though Mull Of Dubai will do for us.
