Tom Tate and Katie Cooper teamed up to win this in 2009 and, as a three-year-old won the event last year, the partnership can get competitive again with the progressive Defence Of Duress. Nina Carberry looks an ideal partner for Just Lille, who made all and strode out strongly in the home straight to win a claimer over the C&D last month. Ann Duffield's mare looks certain to give a good account while Carol Bartley should get a tune out of the lightly-raced Staff Sergeant, who was going on strongly at the finish over 1m2f at Ayr last time. These races are often run at a frantic pace so lasting out the trip is of paramount importance and that will be no problem to BOWDLER'S MAGIC, a winner on fast going over 1m6f at Sandown last summer. Katie Walsh travels over to ride and Mark Johnston's charge should be good enough. Meetings Man, who ran very well in an amateurs' event over the C&D last month, is another expected to go well.
