Verdict

Kings Bayonet has scored on all types of surfaces and his latest effort at Haydock was another strong performance so he has to go on the shortlist. Aramist likes some cut in the ground so conditions will suit though none of his career victories have come at this level. Saved By The Bell completed his hat-trick on this track but has struggled from his new mark subsequently and looks a few pounds high. Zeus Magic gained the second of his summer victories on this track but ran poorly when stepped up a grade at Catterick last month. Treasure The Ridge was brilliantly placed to complete a Polytrack four-timer and ran a fine race when stepped up to this grade at Newmarket on Saturday. Esteaming has won over track and trip but still looks a few pounds high while Emerahldz went up 9lb for her victory at Newmarket though Jack Garritty's claim will help. Ryan Moore's presence in the saddle is a pointer to the chances of OLD TOWN BOY, who ran too bad to be true on his reappearance after a long break at Newmarket. Phil McBride's colt won twice earlier this year and with last month's run behind him he's taken to return to winning ways.
