The last eight winners have been trained in Yorkshire and the sequence can continue with MONT RAS, who hardly broke sweat when landing a competitive Haydock handicap to complete his hat-trick and can defy a huge 12lb rise in the weights. Trainer David O'Meara also runs the progressive Quite Sparky with Ryan Moore booked and the recent Carlisle winner can make his mark while Amethyst Dawn looked in good form when scoring at Thirsk and is just 3lb higher. The handicapper took a dim view of Barren Brook's easy victory over 1m1f here last month and raised him 8lb but that shouldn't prevent another big effort from Mick Easterby's charge, while Snow Bay continues to run well from this mark after his early season double.
