In depth

Verdict

A modest maiden for the course and it is not easy to rule too many out. However, as none of those with experience have really set the world alight to date, it would be no surprise to see Hoxne Star make a winning debut for the Mick Channon yard. However, the betting market is sure to be the best indication to this and support for Azolla, Canni Thinker and Mazuna will also be interesting. But Hoxne Star is a well-bred individual who has been found a light introduction to racing in this evening opener and the son of Soviet Star will not have to be anything out of the ordinary to get off the mark at the first time of asking. Azolla appeals most of those with experience and she should be suited by this step up in trip tonight. A split stakes approach between the two likely market principles could reap a small reward in a race full of imponderables.
