    Verdict

One Off has been one step ahead of the handicapper all season and can make a successful bid to complete a seven-timer, ahead of Taffrail and Jadeeron. Sir Mark Prescott's gelding produced a career best effort when scoring off a mark of 82 at Sandown, having started his winning run on 55. He is now up 87 and the handicapper may think that he has his measure, but we were so impressed with the way he battled last time that we cannot desert him just yet. Taffrail has to give lumps of weight away but is a confirmed stayer, successful on this day, at Pontefract 12 months ago. He will not go down without a fight, but a bigger threat may be Jadeeron who in contrast is on a feather weight, racing from seven pounds out of the handicap. Lisa Jones rode him to his first success here the time before last and he again performed well under a penalty a fortnight ago. the step up in trip will suit, so do not be surprised if he runs a big race. One Off has repeatedly shown that he was wrongly named though and can do so again here.
