Verdict

A competitive if moderate handicap with CLIFF taken to return to winning ways from a workable mark for Nigel Tinkler to exploit. A steady improver this term, latest runs at Nottingham and Thirsk when just out of the places suggest he'll go well in what doesn't look a strong contest. His chance will strengthen if forecast rains arrive as he's a better prospect on softened ground. Viking Way, rated a lowly 49, showed a willing attitude to prevail over this trip recently and is more reliable and consistent than most of his rivals. Catapult, the other consistent performer here, is respected whilst Praxedis continues to suggest she harbours more talent than form figures suggest.
