Verdict

Poor as this contest appears on paper, it is difficult to see how Michael Bell's Bussell Along can be good enough to take the honours in it having been well held when last of 22 runners in a Folkestone handicap on her reappearance last month and it is hard to get away from GUN FOR SALE, who gets the verdict ahead of Kings On The Roof. Giles Bravery's colt ran creditably at Kempton when dropped down to six furlongs last time having run encouragingly over this distance behind Fantastic Dubai in a Lingfield maiden previously and on that form he has every chance. Station Place was very disappointing when last of 12 runners at Lingfield when last seen in November but has to be considered on earlier form in a race as poor as this appears to be. Clive Brittain's Yughanni makes limited appeal from the limited evidence of three runs where she has been well beaten so far, while Ocean Countess has similarly been beaten a long way in her trio of outings but may also do better in this grade. Simon Callaghan's Duchess of Doom may have improved from two to three but will need to have done so to get the better of Gun For Sale. Peter Makin's gelding has run well in both starts this term, being placed on each occasion, and a reproduction of either runs should be good enough in this contest.
