Verdict

The evergreen 12-year-old The Tatling deserves to get his head in front following a fine effort in defeat at Goodwood last week but Milton Bradley's gelding may again have to settle for minor honours in a race taken to go to IMPRIMIS TAGULA, who gets the verdict ahead of Mut'ab. Clive Brittain's colt ran too badly to be true at Sandown last time but has claims on earlier form and he has slipped to a fair mark. Jeremy Gask's Street Power has shown improved form on the Polytrack of late but is much higher in the weights for his return to turf and looks best watched back on the surface today. A market move for Earlsmedic would be of interest, while Derek Shaw's Namir was well beaten on his return at Southwell last week and looks best left out of calculations at present. Paul Howling's Dvinsky is better on the Polytrack than on turf but ran well off just a 2lb lower mark than he races off today when chasing home Pickering at Pontefract last month and he has to be considered. The vote then goes to Alan Bailey's Imprimis Tagula, who has been running well on the Polytrack and Fibresand of late but he ran well back on turf at Doncaster in a more competitive contest than this and he looks the one to beat.
