In depth

Verdict

FAITHFUL DUCHESS has an obvious chance although it may not pay to get carried away. Bold Diktator, Major Eradicator and Clumber Place are amongst others to consider. The selection is still open to improvement whereas the majority of her opponents are probably on the way down. She has yet to win a race but has come down 7lbs in the weights this season after just two starts and was doing enough in the closing stages at Catterick to believe that she can win races in this grade. Major Eradicator was well backed on debut so needs considering on his handicap bow whilst Bold Diktator has won in blinkers and a visor could conceivably bring about a change in his fortunes. Clumber Place popped up at a big price last season and is clearly capable enough on her day whilst Miss Kitty Grey has to be to the fore of our thoughts having shown improved form to finish second over course and distance last time but preference is for Faithful Duchess.
