Verdict

SURF AND TURF emerged from a fallow period with a smooth Hexham success last time and can follow up in an admittedly harder race. Understandably subject to harsh treatment by the handicapper, he is up 9lb now but should remain competitive as he's performed creditably in the past off higher ratings. Jacks Last Hope continues to defy the assessor and impressed with his Aintree success latest whilst there's little to choose between Mr Mcguiness, Slim Pickens and Miss Crick who fought out a finish of necks here last time. Rene's Girl is also of interest as a recent improver but is back down in trip here, whilst Nathans Pride was back to something more like it last time.
