Verdict

A good novices' chase for the time of year with Policy Breach and Reilly's Minor tackling fences for the first time whilst Golden Doyen reverts to this company after running in an open handicap when third at Cartmel. The Hobbs gelding has a clear chance but seems to have become a little disappointing in view of the talent displayed earlier in his career and BALLINURE is the preference despite toting a penalty for a Market Rasen win on fencing debut. He impressed with the style of his win on that occasion and, although this is tougher, looks just the sort to do really well for Nicky Henderson over larger obstacles, especially if jumping as fluently as was the case on debut. Kelvingrove isn't totally straightforward but has ability and should be there or thereabouts.
