In depth

Verdict

Spud and Supreme Melody are our two against the field, with the selection being Spud. Spud has shown promise in each start, at Uttoxeter and Warwick. Today's drier conditions might yet bring some improvement and, in a race where very few have shown ability, has every right to be considered. From a powerful stable, Supreme Melody has shown enough to be given some thought but many of the others have shown little in the way of promise or ability in the context of today's contest. Maybe the betting will tell a different story, though. That said, Back The Music is among those to have shown some promise, along with Silver Accord. For the selection, though, we will stick with Spud.
