In depth

Verdict

Enchanted Approach is nicely-bred and won easily at the track last time and if Tim Vaughan's mare handles the softer ground she can win again; Lancer Scott and Perfectus make it to the shortlist. Tim Vaughan's daughter of Bob Back won by seven lengths at the track last time and was in command from some way out. She has more weight to carry today but she looks up to pulling it off. Lancer Scott ran a decent race on debut at Exeter; David Pipe's gelding may be more at home on this easier track especially with the experience under his belt. Pointers Willie Wong and Answer Me need to be watched in the betting, however Her Turn Now may be more of a danger off bottom-weight. She ran well in-between two disappointing efforts so it's a bit of a lottery as to what to expect today. Perfectus is the most interesting of the newcomers; he has a beautiful flat-pedigree and it would be no surprise to see him run well, with his trainer capable of having bumper winners. Not a bad race to finish with, and it is Enchanted Approach who can win again.
