Verdict

A weak event in which Just Victor's placed form sets the standard, but we fancy GREAT MATES to improve enough to score. The Ditcheat inmate had struggled to see out his races before winning well here last time and our hope is he can go on from that to win more races this summer. Some of his earlier form reads well particularly as he perhaps wasn't at his best and it'll be disappointing if he can't prove better than a 114-rated animal, which Just Victor is. Paul Webber's gelding has had his limitations exposed of late and while this may be easier than recent assignments he's still worth taking on, as is Mzuri Bay. The latter should be suited by dropping in trip after a hard-fought victory under this rider but that came in a handicap off 107 and life will be tougher now. Bold Exit romped home at Cartmel but that form might not be worth much and Great Mates can be a friend to punters.
