In depth

Verdict

Salford Express was a smart middle distance performer when with David Elsworth who regularly contested Pattern events but has not been seen out for almost a year and has since changed stables. The six-year-old would skate in here if anywhere near to his old form but the suggestion is that he has had his problems and is best watched on this occasion. Exclusion Zone is another on the comeback trail and is difficult to assess having won both previous starts at Lingfield in the autumn of 2000 but has not been seen since. Weet-A-Minute has been in excellent heart of late and had Desert Spa five lengths behind over course and distance in February but the latter ran well below expectations on that occasion and is better judged on two previous wins in January. Peter Makin's charge re-opposes on 6lb better terms and is taken to reverse the form under regular rider Tony Clark.
