      Verdict

Eight Ellington can beat Jarvo, with Red Rocky and Vittorioso others to consider. In a poor contest, the recent second of Eight Ellington at Southwell may be good enough. Gay Kelleway's charge found the drop to this level to his liking when finding only Get To The Point too good 10 days ago, and although campaigned over sprint trips prior to that, is worth a try over today's longer journey judged by the way that he stayed on behind the winner at the Newark track. Jarvo has regressed since last year and has been tried over hurdles and in selling company without success recently. The fact that he is put up as a danger reveals just how bad this contest is, with nothing else making any appeal at all. Red Rocky does at least come from a stable that does well here and is preferred for a place ahead of the selection's stable mate Vittorioso. Bets are best kept to a minimum, with Eight Ellington the recommendation.
