In depth

Verdict

We will side with Rainbow Iris here ahead of Llamadas, Heartsonfire and, possibly, Agrravation and Sweet Namibia. The selection looks to have solid credentials for this event if you take literally his fifth behind Ingleton in a York nursery from a mark of 72 last time. That makes him more than competitive here, even though he has yet to race on this surface. Turning to the others and Aggravation showed some promise when running green in a seven-furlong Lingfield Polytrack event that rates as fair form in the context of this race, so do not rule out an improved show again from Andrew Reid's runner. Chief Dipper showed some improvement last time, while Llamadas improved for a first-time visor last time out and his form probably equates to the solid mid-60s mark. Mangrove Cay is becoming disappointing although he cannot be ruled out of things, Gaudalpin is another with place claims, although his form rates in the low 60s, while Heartsonfire has been apportioned a rating of 67 but is certainly nothing out of the ordinary. Ruby's Dream would have a chance on the best of her early-summer form while the John Hills-trained newcomer Sweet Namibia is one to watch out for in the betting. However, overall, we are happy enough to side with Rainbow Iris.
