This has the look of a tricky event with Bond Millennium, Mon Secret, Easter Ogil, Meelup, King Nicholas and Ziet d'Alsace all possibles, but the vote goes to Blue Java. The selection was unlucky in running last time from today's mark when a running on second at Lingfield behind Londoner. Given that he is lightly-raced, he should have better to come and, as such, should run well in attempting to lose his maiden status today, although he has not fared well with the draw. As we say, though, it's a tricky race, with Bond Millennium looking well handicapped on the best of his form, particularly on Turf, Mon Secret also given a chance on the best of his Southwell form, Easter Ogil looking very fairly weighted if at his best - although he has an absence to overcome - Meelup being rated just a pound higher than when scoring at Lingfield in March, King Nicholas looking well worth another try at this longer trip, and Ziet d'Alsace being rated just two pounds higher than when scoring on Turf in July. These are just our thoughts and, no doubt, the market will express some more but, for now, we are happy to take a chance on Blue Java.
