        Verdict

        Lilakiay - a product of the Aga Khan's Irish breeding programme - can get one over on the home-bred contingent; of whom Glory Be and Sea Of Calm make the most appeal in a modest contest like this. Sea Of Calm is out of a high-class sprinter in the States but has shown that she is more suited to this sort of trip. A rating of 59 means she sets what standard there is and it will be frustrating for Ed Dunlop if she cannot at least run up to her mark. Glory Be has gone close in Maidens and Banded stakes of late and can be considered for the shortlist again today. However, it has to be a concern that she continually finds at least one too good for her and she remains a risky option n for win only purposes. Therefore, it can pay to go with Lilakiya, whose form in Ireland does not leave her with too much to find at this level. The daughter of Dr Fong also has an engagement here later in the week, so all may not be lost if she fails to live up to expectations today.
