        Verdict

        Mafioso, Harbour Blues and Jerry Hamilton look the three to concentrate on in this maiden and the vote is given to Mafioso. This colt from the Mark Johnston yard chased home Adversity here last time and he looks the type who is improving with his racing. The booking of Jamie Spencer catches the eye and he can go well at a price. Harbour Blues ran well when fourth behind Resplendent Light at Pontefract last time over a mile. With this in mind it is puzzling to see him dropped back in trip and for that reason he looks worth taking on. Jerry Hamilton is a stablemate of the selection and he has already shown that he does have a bit of ability, although he will need to improve if he is to make his mark today. Aleatricis may be seen to better effect when he is stepped-up in trip, and we will stick with Mafioso who stands out as the one to beat.
