The most valuable race on the card has drawn a fairly competitive field in a typically open sprint handicap. Attorney makes a quick reappearance after his victory over course and distance last week but that was a weak affair and he had nothing to spare so looks vulnerable here under a 6lb penalty. Geronimo looks the pick of Gay Kelleway's pair on jockey bookings but has shown his form over further while Justalord, along with Arogant Prince, now looks weighted up to his very best judged on recent evidence. Paddywack goes well here (four course wins) and has strong claims on his close second over course and distance in December but has disappointed since while Byo is on a long losing sequence so the tentative vote goes to Zarzu. Karl Burke's charge has proved a model of consistency in better grade of late and still looks on a fair mark so may be able to take advantage under Neil Callan who rides the track well.
