In depth

Verdict

Welsh Wind can gain reward for consistency ahead of the likes of Hill Magic and In Xanadu. Michael Wigham's charge has been most consistent and is always likely to pop in at big odds. A winner at York two years ago, he has slipped down to a reasonable mark and must surely be in at the finish. In Xanadu has the assistance of Pat Eddery but is a bit in and out at present, while Den's Joy is a course and distance winner. Hill Magic shaped well on his belated return here two weeks ago but has not won for four years. All in all, this is a good opportunity for Welsh Wind to get back to winning ways.
