In depth

Verdict

An interesting maiden with a number of lightly raced and well-bred newcomers in a race which should produce plenty of future winners. Henry Cecil saddles both Burning Sun and Sting Like A Bee and although the latter has already shown a fair degree of ability, it is the first named who gets the vote. The son of Danzig improved on his juvenile form when finishing third, despite being very weak in the market, to a couple of useful sorts at Newmarket's Craven meeting and, granted further progress, should prove difficult to beat. Sir Michael Stoute is well represented and debutant Navado, a Rainbow Quest colt out of a winning sprinter by Sadler's Wells, appears the stable first string ahead of fellow newcomers Kasthari and Rainbow Dash but the market should help to guide while Nysaean ran promisingly on his sole start last backend and is bred to appreciate the step up in trip.
