Noel Garbutt has ridden GILMER to a hat-trick of victories over this trip and though 5lb higher for a narrow success at Chepstow he had a bit in hand and another victory looks on the cards. Secret Look, who was two lengths behind him at Salisbury, is 12lb better off so has to be respected and he didn't enjoy the fast ground at Nottingham last time. Goadby only won a poor handicap at Nottingham on very quick going, when Potternello was behind, and Wattaboutsteve, though very consistent, has only run on the all-weather.
