Akavit finished ahead of Provato and St Georges Rock at Newbury 11 days ago but looks to be in the handicapper's grip now. Charlie Hills has his string in fine form so Duchess Of Marmite is worth a second look having been noted staying on late at Doncaster last time. Tingleo might appreciate the longer trip after finishing fourth at Nottingham while Alan King's Flat horses usually pay their way and Gild Master still has some scope. RETRO VALLEY continues to run well and is probably the one to beat, though Al should do better now going handicapping and Bold Appeal is tried in headgear after disappointing on the Polytrack.
