In depth

Verdict

A real ripper of a a contest can go to Group Therapy ahead of Cake. Jamie Osbourne has started the season well and his progressive two-year-old comes here in search of the hat-trick. Jockey Tom Queally has been in good form of late and will be looking to fire in another winner before he starts his lengthy ban. This will be the slowest ground that he has encountered so far but if he acts on it (sire, Choisir did), he looks the one to beat. Cake has been impressive on his two starts to date however the form of his last run wasn't boosted by the runner-up on Friday (last in a race at York) and he may need to step-up once again to score again. However he certainly has a bright future and looks the obvious danger. Enocdoc stepped up on his debut run when scoring next time up at Southwell but his is a different class and he looks out of his depth. Brian Meehan's newcomer Perfect Paula deserves respect but the stable aren't firing on all cylinders at present, and so we will return to Group Therapy as the confident selection.
