They have saved the most difficult race until last and so a tentative vote is given to Naval Force, with Burgundy, Aoninch and Star Welcome three of many dangers. The selection hasn't raced since April when easily landing a Southwell claimer. He beat Sontag Blue by an easy eleven lengths off a mark of 67 and if he can transfer that ability to the turf he will be hard to beat off his current mark. Burgundy showed improved turf form to chase home Iffy at Epsom last time and should again be involved in the fight for place money. The same applies to Aoninch who has been knocking on the door all season. Star Welcome, down at the foot of the handicap, also has very strong each-way claims having beaten the subsequent hat-trick scorer Michael's Pride at Nottingham last month. So not a race to risk everything, but Naval Force could be a blot on the handicap here and just gets the vote.
