In depth

Verdict

Late Opposition can make up for two near misses at the track although Semelle de Vent, It's Blue Chip and Polar Dancer will be big dangers. Frankie Dettori has been booked tonight for the mount and while he has gone up 4lb up the handicap without winning, he is still weighted to reverse form with It's Blue Chip. Semelle De Vent is attractively weighted off this mark. He has doubtlessly been well placed in the past although it has to be noted that Dettori has gone elsewhere. Mambina is much better than the bare form of his recent run at Pontefract suggests. Polar Dancer has had three spins around Lingfield and is another for whom a winter will probably make all the difference. We stick with Late Opposition.
