In depth

Verdict

FAJITA narrowly gets the vote in this competitive handicap; the shortlist consists of Diamond Twister, Striding Edge and Fortunate Bid. Gary Moore's colt showed a good attitude last time out at Newmarket, beating Barbarian by a length. That wasn't a bad race for its grade and now back in handicap company off a mark of 68 he looks to hold a solid chance. Fortunate Bid is interesting now stepping up in trip on his handicap debut off a modest mark, Mitra Jaan should be suited by the drop in trip today, whilst Striding Edge represents a trainer who is starting to have more winners then earlier in the season. Diamond Twister ran well behind Carlitos Spirit last time and seemed to appreciate the return to this trip on that occasion, Fondant Fancy's run behind Onemix reads well and she is interesting now over a mile for the first time, whilst Dream On Connie and Better In Time are other interesting handicap debutantes to watch in the betting. Lots of questions here and the most tentative of answers could lie with Fajita.
