In depth

Verdict

Perfect Pastime got off the mark at Goodwood last month and, with his stable in good form, should make a bold effort to follow up here despite a 5lb higher mark. Dandy Nicholls doesn't send many runners to this track, however, so the presence of CADEAUX PEARL is probably significant. The colt is gradually easing toward a decent mark and Billy Cray takes a further 3lb off his back today. In first-time blinkers, the top weight is fancied to show these rivals a clean pair of heels. Scarlet Rocks looks the pick of David Evans' pair but Hughie Morrison's Haydock third Regal Approval is probably best of the rest, though tries 5f for the first time today.
