In depth

Verdict

With the draw in his favour, Playtime Blue is given a tentative vote in a competitive finale with Intellibet One and Shady Deal rated the main dangers. The selection took advantage of a lenient mark when winning well at Kempton last month and lost no caste in defeat on ground that was softer than ideal at Doncaster on Saturday. Back on a faster surface, and with a good draw in stall 15, Karl Burke's three-year-old is taken to score off just a 3lb higher mark than at Kempton. Intellibet One lost no caste in defeat at Folkestone last time and is only 3lbs higher than when winning at Lingfield the time before. She rates the main danger. Shady Deal is closely matched with the David Evans-trained filly on Folkestone running and is another to consider. Milton Bradley, who trains Shady Deal, is also represented by the 12-year-old Nineacres, Indian Bazaar, Loch Inch and Milly's Lass. Given the trainer's record in these type of events, none of the quintet can be ruled out entirely but Playtime Blue has solid claims from his draw and gets the vote.
