Verdict

The competitive nature of this card continues with a big field maiden where KANSAI SPIRIT looks to set a decent standard and has our confidence ahead of Ottoman Empire and Godolphin's latest newcomer Assabiyya. The selection proved that he has trained on this season with a good run in defeat last time after an long absence. He should be sharper for that run and only a slight improvement should have him in front. Ottoman Empire failed to continue his progression with a slightly disappointing effort last time. He has looked better than he showed that day previously so if he's back in form we can expect a challenge. Assabiyya is bred for trips like this and should be useful as a juvenile and with his powerful yard going well at present a big first run should be in the offing. Laughing Boy showed mild progression from first run to second last time and we feel a little bit more we'll be needed again to beat selection Kansai Spirit.
