Verdict

Irishkawa Bellevue has more to do off an 8lb higher mark than when scoring in a Fontwell handicap last time and preference is for Withthelads, who is preferred to the consistent Toms Gone Grey. The selection won with plenty in hand when scoring at Plumpton on Monday and is taken to defy a 7lb penalty. Toms Gone Grey has been knocking on the door of late and is entitled to be thereabouts again but tends to find at least one too good and may have to settle for minor role again. Paul Keane's Magalina sprung a surprise when scoring at Taunton last time and faces a more difficult task off a 9lb higher mark today. A bigger threat may come from Big Max who has been holding his form well of late, while at the other end of the handicap Ellway Prospect has to be respected. The Paul Nicholls-trained Lord Earth and the inconsistent but capable Gumley Gale are others worthy of a mention but for the winner we side with Withthelads.
